Position Summary:

The Supervisor Inventory and Logistics leads the Customer Service and Inventory teams at Napa County Distribution Center (NCDC) for Jackson Family Wines (JFW). The Supervisor Inventory and Logistics leverages working knowledge of customer service and inventory process to provide best-in-class distribution service for Jackson Family Wines sales and marketing teams. As the leader, the Supervisor Inventory and Logistics interacts with key internal business partners, such as production, planning, supply chain, sales and marketing. In addition, there is daily communication with external business partners, such as bailments, 3rd party warehousing and logistics services, distributors, and more. This role is integral in evaluating processes and providing guidance on the best options to provide maximum benefit to JFW and the NCDC teams.

 

Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

 

  • Reporting to the Director of Inventory and Logistics, this position will apply knowledge of business management, logistics, inventory, and customer service
  • With minimal oversight, effectively support processes and applications of NCDC teams to drive process improvement and synergy
  • Must have functional experience with customer service, inventory, logistics, supply chain, distribution, TTB compliance, as well as experience working with sales and marketing, and production
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy at the NCDC
  • Contribute to the overall distribution business success by understanding processes and business requirements sales, marketing, and production teams.
  • Anticipate and proactive support through potential issue recognition and contingency planning
  • Provide guidance to, and collaborate with, other members across the company on distribution and inventory accounting processes as they relate to compliance, finance, and production
  • Drive cost savings by identifying controllable opportunities of improvement.
  • Provide feedback and recognition to team members in a timely, consistent, and fair equitable manner
  • Identify and solve opportunities in training and development of team member
  • Hold regular 1-on-1 meetings with team members to provide continued follow-up and guidance on development, projects, performance feedback and other topics relevant to individual and organizational success

 

An Ideal Candidate Has:

 

  • A Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate sound reasoning and thoughtful conflict management
  • Minimum 2–3 years process development and on-going refinement
  • A knack for driving change through engagement of multiple work group functions
  • Experience in process improvement identification, implementation, and management
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement skills, including experience in continuous improvement implementation and project management, leading team members, and influencing, coaching, driving, and managing change
  • Ability to translate given information and ask probing follow-up questions, to develop clear and concise process streams
  • Experience clearly articulating project scopes to ensure alignment of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and High Jump Warehouse Management System, as well as Electronic Data Interchanges (EDI) and customer claims
