Under the supervision of the Cellarmaster and the Winemaking team, this position will perform a wide variety of skilled cellar duties that require previous experience. Applicants should have a solid working knowledge of winery cellar operations and experience with winery tools and equipment. In addition, this position will need to offer guidance and leadership to seasonal interns during harvest.


Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Cleaning and sanitizing all winery equipment and facilities
  • Properly setting up and using equipment
  • Safely using forklift to move barrels, bins, and cased goods
  • Safely using scissor lift to perform punchdowns during harvest
  • Racking, blending, and transferring wines
  • Pulling samples
  • Performing winemaking additions both during and after fermentation
  • Keeping the cellar and storage areas organized and tidy
  • Other duties assigned by Cellarmaster or Winemaking team


Applicant must be:


  • Reliable and possess an excellent work ethic
  • Capable of performing the assigned work with little or no supervision
  • Have basic computer/internet skills
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a repetitive basis, work standing up and walk on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time.
  • Flexible with scheduling and available to work overtime as needed, particularly during harvest
  • We require 3 years of experience in a cellar environment
  • Able to pass a drug test and physical evaluation to be eligible for employment. JFW maintains a zero-tolerance policy with regard to marijuana use
