We are seeking a motivated and high-achieving Senior International Brand Manager candidate to join the dynamic International Marketing team at Jackson Family Wines, managing the Italian brand portfolio.  The Senior Brand Manager position is an important leadership role that partners with the VP International Marketing and the brand team to develop and execute the business and marketing strategies for a collection of estates/brands.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages P&L of assigned businesses proactively, driving strategies and tactics leading to sequential revenue and contribution growth
  • Leads development of brand positioning, growth strategy and marketing plans/programs for assigned brands
  • Manages brand team recruitment, development and retention; prepares team members for career opportunities and responsibility growth
  • Collaborates across several functions – winemaking, supply chain, sales, national accounts, finance, communications – to synthesize strategic and annual plans and maximize profitability
  • Leads development of brand plans to include detailed strategic objectives, programs and propositions for the brands that optimize brand positioning and result in vigorous volume growth and increased profitability
  • Defines key channel growth opportunities and develops plans that maximize brand opportunities accordingly; Develops in-market responses to competitive activity and launches; Analyzes and develops plans against new and important consumer target opportunities; Effectively oversees brand budgets, managing expenditures and expenditures appropriately
  • Frequent presentations to sales, senior management, and ownership to secure approval for large and small initiatives
  • Working closely with sales to anticipate market trends and deliver against key opportunities
  • Maintains positive, constructive relationships and communications with internal team members and outside agency partners 
  • Trend analysis, prediction, and ability to recommend changes in courses of action
  • Spends time at winery locations (where applicable), developing relationships with direct-to-consumer (DTC) and production personnel and supporting winery site initiatives to ensure alignment with business and communication



Background Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, finance or related; MBA strongly preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive experience managing and growing brands
  • Wine or consumer goods marketing experience preferred
  • Experience with international wineries preferred
  • 3+ years of direct P&L management and responsibility
  • 3+ years of managing and developing direct reports
  • Strong and consistent track record of successful brand growth across multiple brands and/or business units
  • Entrepreneurial in thinking with strong sense of urgency; works well in fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable making good decisions while dealing with ambiguity
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, advanced problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated people management experience; ability to develop and lead a team of marketing professionals
  • Strong interpersonal and business communication skills
  • Experience in building strategic business plans that drive profitable growth
  • Ability to develop and execute multi-channel brand marketing programs
  • Track record of complex project management using internal and external resources
  • Advanced understanding of various pricing strategies across multiple markets and channels
  • Advanced presentation development and delivery experience
  • Strong writing and editing
  • Adaptable and flexible and can operate in a fast-paced entrepreneurial culture
  • Social media understanding (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
  • Strong PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
