Jackson Family Wines is hiring a seasonal Viticulturalist to assist in monitoring our Vineyards located in the Northern Willamette Valley. We are looking for a motivated team member who is eager to expand on their knowledge of viticulture. Position for Summer 2023.
Responsibilities:
- Field scouting and record keeping (phenology, pests, water status, nutrition, etc)
- Data collection for yield estimation
- Plant tissue and soil sampling
- Assist with technical support of routine vineyard activities (use of pressure chamber, etc)
- Assist collecting maturity samples
- Assist with data entry and analysis (Excel, Ag Code software)
- Assist with vineyard reporting
Requirements:
- Knowledge of viticulture and related areas including plant and vine physiology
- Completed or working towards degree in Viticulture or related field
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Computer skills, MS Office, and database applications
- Detail oriented
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
Physical requirements and additional details:
- Able to work flexible and extended hours, which may include weekends
- This candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Extensive walking and ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
