Join the Stonestreet Estate Vineyards Winemaking Team! We source our fruit from world-class estate vineyards to bring into our Alexander Valley winery to produce primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Primary responsibilities include analysis of juice and wine, monitoring fermentations and recordkeeping. This position will also include general cellar work in the winery. Must be organized, detail-oriented and possess good communication skills.
We are looking for someone who enjoys the winemaking process and is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Under the general direction of the Enologist, the Laboratory Technician will perform routine juice and wine analysis. This is a hybrid position who will also work in the winery. Position requires the ability to follow directions safely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Laboratory duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Obtaining lab samples
Analyze samples in a timely manner
Record results in proper journals
Maintain computerized records
Monitor tank and barrel fermentations as requested
Collect representative samples from tanks and barrels
Participate in general lab housekeeping
Cellar duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Racking and pumping of juice and wine
Filling, topping, and racking barrels
Making chemical additions to juice and wine
Cleaning, sanitizing, and sterilizing all winery equipment and facility
Moving hoses and equipment
Following and observing all safe cellar practices
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends during harvest. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop, and kneel. Also, must be able to lift and move up to 50 pound boxes occasionally.
