Siduri Wines is looking for Seasonal Harvest Winery Workers for the upcoming 2018 harvest season. We are a small winery, located in Santa Rosa, California, specializing in high end Pinot Noir. We also work with small amounts of Zinfandel, Syrah, Grenache, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay. We are a tight-knit and efficient crew, and we’re looking for people who enjoy working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, dealing with all aspects of the winemaking process.
Duties include sanitizing tools and equipment, sorting and processing incoming grapes, punchdowns (lots of punchdowns), pumpovers, winemaking additions, tank digouts, pressing, barrel downs, bulk transfers, and pretty much everything else in between. We expect applicants to be able to follow directions from the winemaking and cellar staff, and to follow written instructions exactly. Applicants also need to be punctual and professional. We like to have fun at Siduri, but we can’t have people coming in late and hungover.
We generally work 10-12 hour days once harvest gets rolling, and while we do our best to rotate days off, there will be times when you work more than 7 days in a row. The job lasts approximately 10 weeks, starting in mid-August and running through the end of October, sometimes early November. Pay is competitive. Preference is given to applicants with prior winery experience, but we’ll also consider other applicants. If you’ve worked other physically demanding, hands-on jobs (construction, restaurants, warehouse, etc.) that helps, too.
Last things: applicants need to be 21 years old at the time of employment, and need to be able to pass a drug test. Even though pot is legal in California now, our parent company, Jackson Family Wines, continues to adhere to Federal drug policy guidelines.
Please include a brief cover letter if you’re interested.
