The Manager, eCommerce Media Planning, is responsible for driving the media planning process for digital commerce at Jackson Family Wines.  Serving as the liaison between the eCommerce sales/media vendors and the company, this individual will ensure that media plans are delivering on sales and brand objectives, aligned to the target consumer and are within the budgets allocated by the sales team.  This role will maintain flexibility within the media plans and will evaluate and make recommendations for plan optimization at a minimum on a bi-weekly basis. Working alongside our business insights department, this position will also help execute channel and division analytics and reporting.

 eCommerce Media Planning responsibilities include (80%):

  • Identifying and developing partnerships across key eCommerce media providers and provide recommendations to the media vendors
  • Driving a test and optimize culture related to media vehicles and will drive discipline behind measurement and effectiveness of various forms of media
  • Awareness (up-funnel) and conversion (down-funnel) media tactics and delivering customized recommendations for each brand
  • Leading the media planning portion of the annual eCommerce sales plans, delivering comprehensive media plans that deliver against the sales objectives and annual budget and make recommendations to the sales team on how to optimize the media plans
  • Work with category leading B2B (distributor) media partners to develop, implement and measure media campaigns
  • Working with the sales and brand teams to understand the business objectives and media strategy
  • Liaising with the creative agency team, brand team, eCommerce sales teams to develop media strategies and campaigns
  • Leading the annual media planning process in partnership with the sales and brand teams
  • Managing the reporting of quarterly media spends
  • Recommending media plan optimizations at a minimum on a bi-weekly basis
  • Making recommendations on the best form of media for specific brand objectives
  • Developing strategic relationships with various eCommerce media platforms

 Analytics Support responsibilities include (20%):

  • Working with Enterprise Analytics to develop and maintain eCommerce sales channel reports and scorecards
  • Help maintain Content Health Scorecard specific to individual major accounts, overall grocery particularly focused on those channels/vendors related to Jackson Family Wines media spend
  • Setting test plans and analyze campaigns for media effectiveness

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of media planning experience at an agency or client side
  • Experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is critical
  • Experience managing external agency relationships strongly preferred
  • Experience with various ecommerce media vehicles and media planning including commerce, search, PR, shopper, and social
  • Product listing ad (PLA) experience with major ecom/social platforms like Amazon, Google and Facebook
  • Familiarity with Instacart, Drizly, Shipt, Quotient, Proof, eRNDC preferred
  • Cross-functional team development, organizational leadership and cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience with full-funnel attribution methods and optimization
  • BA or BS degree is required
  • Proven analytical, data-based decision maker based on eCommerce and consumer metrics
  • Project management experience with high attention to detail is required
  • Must be able to work with senior leaders on strategic direction and with team members on tactical details
