We are seeking a motivated and high-achieving Digital Marketing Manager candidate to join the dynamic Marketing team at Jackson Family Wines. A critical member of both the Digital Marketing and Brand Marketing functions, the Digital Marketing Manager owns the consumer-facing digital demand generation strategy end-to-end: researching new opportunities, winning approval from senior management, negotiating favorable terms with vendors, and ensuring executional excellence that meets or exceeds all established KPIs. This position will provide both thought-leadership and an innate ability to quickly execute Digital Marketing programs on behalf of our winery brands.

Essential Job Functions:

 

Digital Strategy

  • Leads development of Digital Marketing tactics to meet strategic objectives; constantly using industry research and analytic insights to seek new growth opportunities, and develops/adjusts plans to maximize opportunities accordingly.
  • Leads development and execution of content across all digital channels.
  • Collaborates across several functions – Brand Marketing, IT, PR, Creative, and DTC – to synthesize strategic plans and maximize KPI growth.
  • Manages social media contractors and/or agency partners to ensure creative alignment and increased KPI success.
  • Executes sales lift analyses to demonstrate correlation between digital efforts and specific market and/or retailer sales growth.

Thought Leadership

  • Provides key thought leadership on Digital Marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Presents to Brand, Senior Management, and Ownership to secure approval for large and small initiatives.

 

Advertising

  • Expert knowledge of paid media/ad platforms including social, search, and video.
  • Well-versed in pixel conversion, lead capture, product retargeting, and reach and frequency campaign planning.

 

Creative

  • Writes creative briefs and owns digital creative initiatives from start to finish.
  • Photographs, edits, captions, and posts content on behalf of our wineries.
  • Delights in social media community management.
  • Enjoys copywriting and comfortable publishing web pages in a modern CMS (Drupal, Wordpress).

 

Web Development

  • Leads cross-functional Website Development projects providing best practices in UI/UX, design, mobile optimization, and SEO.
  • Leads A/B / multi-variate test design and drives measurable conversion growth.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics, UTM tags, event triggers, and goal conversions to monitor and improve the health of our websites.

 

Administrative

  • Opens purchases orders and manages open purchase orders.
  • Coordinates wine sample sends with external contractors and agencies.

 

Reporting

  • Sets, tracks, and optimizes budgets across digital initiatives.
  • Compiles monthly, quarterly, and end of year Digital Marketing performance metrics by winery.

 

Background Required:

  • High integrity.
  • Loves wine.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Creative Writing or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years Digital Marketing Management; CPG/Beverage preferred.
  • Track record of developing engaging digital campaigns that move the needle on awareness, conversion, lead capture, and customer retention.
  • 2+ years managing digital marketing budgets (in-house or agency capacity).
  • Ability to develop and execute multi-channel Digital Marketing programs.
  • Expert knowledge of paid media/ad platforms including social, search, and video.
  • Well-versed in pixel conversion, lead capture, product retargeting, and reach and frequency campaign planning.
  • Entrepreneurial in thinking with strong sense of urgency; works well in fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing external agencies.
  • Comfortable making good decisions while dealing with ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, advanced problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Leverage, understand, and interpret data to make decisions.
  • Demonstrates forward-thinking strategies to take advantage of new opportunities and mitigate risk.
  • Strong interpersonal and business communication skills.
  • Track record of complex digital project management using internal and external resources.
  • Working knowledge of HTML; able to clearly communicate web development requirements to IT colleagues and vendors.
  • Comfortable publishing in modern CMS (Drupal, Wordpress).
  • Strong writing and editing skills. Advanced presentation development and delivery experience.
  • Strong software skills (MS Office suite, Adobe CS).
  • Personable with ability to influence others.
  • Not afraid to roll up their sleeves.
  • Sense of humor, likes to have fun.
