The Digital Copywriter will focus on developing digital content across multiple unique wine brands. This role will report to the Digital Content Director and work to develop and execute an effective content strategy, cultivate standards, and best practices for content creation, distribution, and maintenance across email, web, and other digital platforms.


Job Requirements

  • Write content with a specific focus on digital channels and assets: email campaigns, winery communications, brand microsites, web content, landing pages, newsletters, product copy, blog posts, etc.
  • Produce strong, well-written content aimed at engaging and converting target audiences
  • Manage editorial calendars on assigned wine brands
  • Brainstorms with cross-functional partners and business owners to generate ideas and opportunities for content planning and development
  • Provide input to cross-functional partners and business owners when new ideas are presented to ensure optimal business results
  • Conceive fresh and appealing ideas for new content that support business goals
  • Ensure proper usage of writing style, brand standards and tone of voice are reflected accurately; switch tone and style depending on audience and winery
  • Thoroughly proofread all copy
  • Deploy SEO best practices to write creative copy that includes effective keyword placement
  • Write copy that helps boost a website's search engine ranking, email open rate, and sales conversion
  • Work closely with the Digital Content Director to implement content strategies across assigned wine brands
  • Support conversion to purchase with excellent writing and product/campaign specific communication strategies
  • Work with cross-functional partners and business owners to generate ideas and opportunities for content planning and development
  • Collaborate with brand stakeholders (email marketing, brand marketing, DTC) to create and manage brand content pillars and editorial calendars


Desired Skills

  • Outstanding writing skills, including the ability to self-edit
  • Knowledge of the digital space including content strategies, product promotion, consumer research and industry trends
  • Understanding of the wine industry: how wine is made, marketed, and sold
  • Ability to translate brand tone of voice and positioning to define web and email copy and to write in a variety of voices and styles
  • Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to brainstorm, develop, and execute campaigns
  • Acute attention to detail and an ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Highly proactive and internally motivated with an ability to work independently
  • Knowledge and understanding of ADA and accessibility guidelines
  • Understanding of UX principles and how they relate to copy
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar
  • Comfortable analyzing data to drive decisions and optimize content based on goals
  • Portfolio of work with an emphasis on UX writing and digital/web content should be submitted at time of application



  • Must have 3+ years copywriting experience for digital platforms
  • A natural storyteller, full of ideas and able to bring them to life with engaging content
  • Passionate about wine
  • Confident, friendly, motivated, and driven
  • Organized, and has a desire to own a project from beginning to end
  • Takes pride in their work
