Position Summary:

Jackson Family Wines is family owned and for 40 years has focused on producing wines of authenticity and exceptional pedigree. We are searching for an experienced and skilled Chef de Cuisine that can lead a talented team of professionals in providing culinary services for our portfolio of premium and luxury wineries. Under the direction of the Executive Chef, this role is responsible for leading the execution of culinary programming to support the initiatives of our dynamic Marketing and Sales organizations. This includes on-going wine and food pairing programs, small luxury lunches and dinners as well as large events and festivals.

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef in the creation of culinary experiences
  • Lead, train, mentor, schedule and supervise culinary team
  • Conduct annual staff performance reviews and ensure staff compliance with all required training
  • Oversee and monitor sanitation practices to ensure health department compliance and standards of cleanliness are being strictly followed
  • Coordinate food purchasing and employ stock control practices that minimize food waste
  • Control food and other costs to operating budget and adhere to department accounting practices
  • Responsible for equipment purchasing and repair
  • Coordinate with the Hospitality and Events team in the planning and execution of meals and events
  • Create menus and recipes, as requested, in a timely manner


Job Requirements:

Essential Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Must be wine knowledgeable and understand the food and wine relationship at a very high level
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and plan culinary experiences
  • Ability to manage food costs
  • Must be punctual and organized
  • Must possess a professional demeanor with the ability to interact with trade and consumer guests
  • 5+ years of luxury food and beverage operation experience
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must complete and maintain Serve-Safe certification as well as California ABC beverage service certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for periods of 8 hours or more
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

 Pay Range:

$98,290.47 - $125,210.78 - $152,131.10 annually
