POSITION SUMMARY

This individual will assist the Accounting Director (Fixed Assets, Debt, Related Party, and Leases) and guide the team, with recording transactions timely, accurately, and in accordance with GAAP or Tax requirements. This position will be responsible for various areas listed below.  This position has high career growth potential.

 

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY/ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Fixed Assets:

  • Maintain OneSource property tax software.
  • Perform integrity checks from general ledger to OneSource.
  • Research subsequent tax assessments related to fixed assets.
  • Preparation of the tax and compliance reporting related to fixed assets.
  • Monitoring system controls and procedures around fixed asset tax reporting.
  • Special reports and schedules as assigned.

Related Party:

  • Review and reconciliations, billings, and reports
  • Special reports and schedules as assigned.

Leases:

  • Review leases and preform classification analysis
  • Review and prepare lease reports to be used with financial statements
  • Special reports and schedules as assigned.

Month-End Close Process / Journal entries:

  • Preparation and entry of monthly journal entries in JD Edwards.
  • Communicate with different departments to gather necessary documentations and information necessary for month-end close.

Annual Audit

  • Prepare reports and schedules necessary to support audit and tax requirements
  • Prepare confirmations and footnote disclosures, as assigned

Administration and Supervision

  • Provide guidance to and collaborate with other members of the team on complex accounting issues in compliance with most recent accounting pronouncements and standards
  • Train, mentor, and coach direct reports

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent. CPA highly preferred.

Skills/Abilities:   4+ years of professional accounting/audit experience. Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.  Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.  Commitment to excellence and high standards.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to manage priorities and workflow.  Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.  Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with positive attitude. Show great attention to detail.

Computer Skills:   Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office:  Word and Excel.  JD Edwards and OneSource tax software experience preferred, but not required
