The Accounting Supervisor will work closely with the Accounting Director. This person will lead a team in general accounting transactions to ensure timely, accurate accounting in accordance with GAAP. This role has high career growth potential.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Fixed Assets

  • Maintain property tax software
  • Monitoring system controls and procedures around fixed asset reporting
  • Special reports and schedules as assigned

Related Party

  • Review reconciliations, billings, and reports
  • Special reports and schedules as assigned

Leases

  • Review leases and preform classification analysis
  • Review and prepare lease reports to be used with financial statements
  • Special reports and schedules as assigned

Month-End Close Process / Journal Entries

  • Preparation and entry of monthly journal entries in JD Edwards
  • Communicate with different departments to gather necessary documentations and information necessary for month-end close

Annual Audit

  • Prepare reports and schedules necessary to support audit
  • Prepare confirmations and footnote disclosures, as assigned

Administration and Supervision

  • Provide guidance to and collaborate with other members of the team on complex accounting issues in compliance with most recent accounting pronouncements and standards
  • Train, mentor, and coach direct reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of professional accounting and/or audit experience. Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. Experience leading a team of employees. Commitment to excellence and high standards.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to manage priorities and workflow.  Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.  Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with positive attitude. Show great attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Word and Excel.  JD Edwards and OneSource Property Tax software experience a plus, but not required.
