TITLE:Tractor Driver

REPORTS TO:Vineyard Supervisor

LOCATION:North Coast Vineyard Operations

General Description of Duties:

A Tractor Driver must be able to operate any Tractor and/or ATV safely and properly.  A tractor driver must maintain all of his equipment and/or implements in a clean and operational manner.  He must also take excellent care of all vineyard property and maintaining a safe and quality based approach while working around all personnel.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Under the general direction of the Facility Winemaker, this position will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling all grape deliveries and juice shipments. The Harvest Scheduler will perform general administrative duties in support of Production Operations and Administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (include, but are not limited to):

• Organize daily work load, general record keeping and filing
• Coordinate schedule of all grape deliveries and juice shipments and track using the Bulk Inventory Management System (BIMS)
• Communicate with personnel to determine logistics of internal and external shipments and deliveries
• Organize press schedules and optimize efficiency of workflow on crush pad and in the cellar
• Assist production, winemaking and administration staff in administrative functions and special projects as needed

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a seasonal, hourly position. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Issue weighmaster certificates and maintain logbooks for grapes, juice, and wine receiving and shipping
• Maintain accurate LBAM records to ensure 100% compliance with federal and state laws, and winery procedures.
• Accurately calculate tonnage or gallonage on trucks received
• Collect representative grape samples from trucks for lab analysis
• Prepare and analyze grape samples for Brix, titratable acidity, and pH
• Maintain general cleanliness of the scale and sampling equipment
• Monitor tank and barrel fermentations as requested
• Collect representative samples from tanks and barrels
• Assist BIMS Data Entry with entering weigh tags into the data system.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Discovery & Solutions Laboratory addresses unique challenges and provides advanced analytics for Jackson Family Wines. Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technician will perform project specific grape collection and juice or wine analysis. This position offers the opportunity to learn about advanced analytical methods. This is a seasonal position hired only during the Harvest Season (generally between August 1 and could be through January 31, depending on the timing of Harvest).

Position Summary:

The individual in this position of Seasonal Laboratory Analyst I will be an important member of the laboratory team.  This position requires attention and adherence to laboratory quality requirements, support of quality initiatives, teamwork, professionalism and demonstrated work ethic. As a seasonal position, many of the duties will be centered around harvest activities including sampling and monitoring fermentations.
